How to Play

2. Thirteen cards are dealt with each player.

4. The game starts with a player taking a card out of the closed pile, checking if it will use to create a sequence or set, and dropping an unwanted card into the open pile. The game goes around until someone wins.

What is a Set or a Sequence?

A set or a sequence is the order of cards we need to win. The difference between a set and a sequence is that a set consists of the same cards in different suits. For example, if you have aces of the club, of spades and hearts, you have a set of three aces. You also can have sets of 4.

You need to have a set of 3 or 4 cards in order and of the same suit in a sequence. For example, you can call 4,5, and 6 spades together as a sequence.

Pure Sequence– A pure sequence is a sequence that doesn’t substitute any number with a joker. Having one pure sequence is essential to winning the game.

Valid sequence– A valid sequence is nothing but a sequence with a joker. The joker can be either original or wild card one.

A wild card joker is a randomly picked card out of the closed pile to be used as a wild joker. This makes the competition harder as there is a need to win the game sooner, before anyone else.

If you have two valid sequences and one pure sequence, you can declare the game and take the pot, i.e., the money bet.

Winning Pointers

• Never give away your hand through your facial expressions. In rummy, tables can turn around at any time.
• While making a sequence, remember to keep your options open. This means if you have a 3,5,6 and 8, the identical suits. Don’t be fixed on one option. Keep your mind open for both 4 and 7. Take whichever comes first. In this way, you have the option of forming three sequences.
• If you are unhappy with your hand and guess that someone might be winning, drop the big cards like a king, queen, and jack; you will reduce the winning points by a good chance.
