What are the Best Certifications for Cyber Security Freshers?

The labor force of the future will need to be prepared to cope with the entry of new hackers and cyber attackers with advanced technological skills. With greater risks, additional funds will need to be allocated for the protection of essential cyber assets. In the year 2022, the funding spent on guaranteeing the safety of information is projected to reach a value of around $ 172 billion, as stated by Gartner. This indicates that there is a growing need for competent security professionals. Cyber security training and certification is an obvious choice if you want to demonstrate that you are knowledgeable and skilled in this area while also drawing more attention to your CV.

Best Certifications for Cyber Security Freshers

The following are the most recognized certifications in the world for those seeking entry into the cyber security domain. Go through the below-listed courses to determine the best course for you:

Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Security Fundamentals

The MTA Security Fundamentals course is the one that is considered to be “entry-level” among the others. The MTA Security Fundamentals certification acknowledges a candidate’s knowledge of fundamental security principles as well as the fundamentals of operating systems, networks, and software security. The certification is designed for students in high school and early college as well as those already in the workforce who are looking to change careers. You just need to do well on one test in order to earn your certification.

ISACA CSX Cybersecurity Fundamentals Certificate

ISACA is well-known in the security field for its Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certifications, as well as related certifications that offer intermediate to advanced qualifications.

The CSX Cybersecurity Fundamentals Certificate is a relatively recent addition to the ISACA certification program and was created to address an entry-level gap.

This certificate focuses on five cybersecurity-related domains: ideas; architecture principles; network, system, application, and data security; incident response; and security of emerging technologies. It is designed for recent post-secondary graduates and those considering career transitions.

CompTIA Security+

Security+ covers network security, threats and vulnerabilities, access controls, cryptography, risk management concepts, application, host, and data security. The certification satisfies U.S. Department of Defense Directive 8570.01-M standards and conforms with FISMA (FISMA).

CompTIA recommends two years of relevant experience and Network+ certification before studying Security+. At $311, this test is mid-range among entry-level certificates. Security+ leads to occupations like administrator, expert, and network administrator.

GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF)

System administrators, managers, and information security officers who need a comprehensive overview of information assurance concepts, defense-in-depth approaches, risk management, security policies, and business continuity and disaster recovery plans are the target audience for the GIAC’s GISF.

(ISC)2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

The Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) credential offered by (ISC)2 is likely the most well-known and sought-after certification in the field of information security today.

(ISC)2 provides a number of certifications that are connected to security, with the ANSI-accredited SSCP serving as the certification for beginners. If you do not already have information technology expertise that is technical or engineering-related, the SSCP will prepare you for professions such as systems security analyst, network security engineer, and security administrator. These positions often begin at the junior level.

CompTIA Network+ and/or Security+

CompTIA’s Network+ and Security+ certifications are the initial stages of our journey to cybersecurity since they are widely recognized. These certifications only need passing a single test to acquire, and there is no minimum requirement of work experience in order to sit for the examinations.

The Network+ certification program teaches students fundamental computer networking ideas, such as routers, switches, and protocols. It also includes a significant amount of information on network security, including cyber-attacks and the notion of hardening networks. The Security+ course not only covers fundamental security ideas like cyberattacks and system hardening, but it also touches on network ideas like routers and switches.

Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

Ethical hacking, often known as white hat hacking, penetration testing, or red team, is the practice of legally hacking businesses in an effort to find weaknesses in those organizations before other, more harmful players do. EC-Council is the organization that may provide you with the CEH Certified Ethical Hacker certification. Earning it will let you demonstrate your expertise in areas like penetration testing, attack detection, and prevention, as well as routes for an attack.

Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

You may demonstrate your mastery of the management aspects of information security by earning the CISM certification, which is also offered by ISACA. This certification covers a wide range of subjects, including governance, program creation, as well as program, incident, and risk management.

ECES Certification

One of the qualifications for cybersecurity professionals that is held in high respect is the EC-Council Certified Encryption Specialist or ECES for short. The students are given an overview of the area of cryptography, including topics such as AES, DES, Feistel Network algorithms, modern symmetry, and fundamental cryptography. The ECES course also includes hands-on experience with encrypting drives, cryptographic methods, and steganography, as well as a practical understanding of how to set up a virtual private network (VPN).

CSX.

The CSX Technical Foundations certificate is only granted to candidates who have successfully completed all three of the following certificate examinations.

• CSX Network Application and Configuration Certificate

• CSX Linux Application and Configuration Certificate

• CSX Packet Analysis Course Certificate

Certificate Students will have the opportunity to learn how to analyze and use packets in their daily work routine, as well as how to use Linux commands to understand their systems and networks better and how to protect networks that they develop and manage.

ISACA is the organization that confers the CSX certification. Another package for entry-level IT certification, this one includes three hands-on introduction classes in addition to the certification examinations that go along with each of those classes.

Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)

(ISC)2 is the certifying body for CCSP certification. This certification is now widely sought after and worldwide recognized since many businesses are shifting assets to the cloud, and there is a change from traditional on-premise security to cloud security.

This exam is designed for IT and information systems professionals entrusted with developing security measures for cloud-based infrastructure. There is an immediate need for a standardized cloud security architecture capable of protecting all of your cloud-hosted processes and services. Having this CCSP certification will be a bonus for your employer, assuring them that you possess the required abilities for managing and safeguarding their cloud systems.
